It’s land price madness

Around 350 guests have been asked to an extravagant launch party in London at the Knightsbridge development known as 1, Hyde Park , where they will be shown the apartments which reportedly start a £6.5m for one bedroom and go up to £140m for a penthouse.

“Prices start at £6.5m for a simple one-bedroom flat and rise to £140m for one of the penthouses. The prices, averaging about £6,000 a square foot, are the highest ever paid for residential space, according to property experts.

“City grandees including Lord Fink, the hedge fund guru, Ken Costa of Lazards, and Bernie Ecclestone of F1 joined international investors and celebrities including Gary Lineker, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Theo Fennell at the launch.

“As well as interiors designed by the Candys, residents at the highly anticipated development can call on valets, a concierge and butler room service from the next-door Mandarin Oriental hotel’s two restaurants, overseen by Heston Blumenthal and Daniel Boulud.”

I hope the bathrooms have solid platinum taps, gold is vulgar even if it is solid.
