Cornish Patsy tax row smoulders on
I am enjoying this row. It shows how idiotic the tax system has become.
The trend is inevitably towards increasing complexity but that is inevitable since the tax system is founded on no sound principle. It is little more than a structure of fines and penalties for successfully engaging in legal economic activity. What kind of economic signals does that give?
The more it can be held up to ridicule the better, for it must surely hasten the time when there is agreement that enough is enough. There is an amusing article about the Patsy Tax in the FT.
There is a perfectly rational and principled tax system waiting to be adopted. You can read all about it on this web site.
